I got the chance to put on my travel photographer hat recently on a trip to Israel, a country that provides some truly incredible sights and vistas.
Though the week was an action-packed conveyor belt of activities, I had the chance to grab some candid shots showing some of the places we visited. It’s always an enjoyable challenge to try to capture personality and setting in candid shots, with the goal of a picture that can bring the viewer back into the moment even years after the trip.
Some spectacular misfortune knocked my Canon 50mm 1.4 out of commission just before the trip, so I spent the majority of the time with its remarkably cheap f1.8 cousin. It would have been nice to have shot the trip with better glass, but that’s just how it goes sometimes, I guess.
